THE LIBRARY OF ALL POSSIBLE THINGS
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, scientists around the world are turning to monoclonal antibodies to find a cure. However, most of the population is unaware of this tool. They also do not know that behind its invention is the Argentinian chemist and Nobel laureate César Milstein. As different countries race to find a treatment, we’re taking on the challenge of telling the story of the invention that changed the course of biotechnology.
This documentary takes us on a journey through the infinite library of knowledge. It is a journey through the world of immunology that allows us to understand why monoclonal antibodies marked a before and after in science. It explores archives and interviews, images and sounds from the recent past that make sense today. By asking those who lived through that history, we can understand what this tool that has changed the world of biological science is all about.
The film is a continuation of “Un Fueguito, la historia de César Milstein”. This film is supported by The Max Perutz Fund. Going strong with the expansion of MABS, his transmedia project was selected at IDW and is the winner of the 2019 creation grant from the Argentinian National Endowment for the Arts.
